Tubla d.o.o.

Founded in 2001 in the city of Čakovec, Tubla is one of the largest Hosiery mills in Croatia. The factory was founded in this area with the intention of combining the know-how of the local people with the modern excellence typical of the company’s plants. This is why Tubla is renowned locally for its modern approach and facilities, and is a model to emulate in terms of the attention paid to both its employees and the environment.

Our people

Shifts in Tubla have been cut to six hours, to allow workers – 80% of whom are women – to spend more time with their families. This organisation, together with the opportunities for growth offered, has a positive impact on turnover levels, which are reduced to a minimum. The absence of expat workers in Tubla provides confirmation of the company’s decision to offer valid employment to the local population.
Tubla has received a number of awards over the years. The rapid growth registered between 2003 and 2005 earned it the “Golden Kuna” award from the Croation Chamber of Commerce. Assigned to the companies that bring greatest success to the country, it was also won by Tubla in 2009, 2014 and 2017.

Respect for the environment

Together with the close attention paid to employees, Tubla also works hard every day to guarantee respect for the environment. All the lights in the facility use LED technology to save energy, 100% of which comes from renewable sources. The machinery is tested every year to verify safety and drainage. Where possible, the plant seeks to recycle and reduce waste, so all the cardboard boxes used for logistics are recycled, and 70% of the plastic reels are returned to suppliers to be used again. A high-tech biorotor has also been installed for water purification.
Considering the benefits associated with cycling – not only for the environment, but also for physical health – Tubla has taken steps to encourage it, by installing covered bicycle racks and building a pedestrian bridge to facilitate access to the factory from the surrounding towns.

The people who work for us have always been our most valuable resource, and no presentation of our factories would be complete without a word from them. Here are the stories of those who produce our items every day:

Žaklina

My name is Žaklina. I was born in Germany, but I returned to Croatia with my parents when I was a child. I live in a small village near Čakovec. Twenty years ago, Tubla was the newest factory in the region, and I immediately saw it as an excellent employment opportunity, since I had just finished studying to become a knitwear technician. I started working here in 2002, on the production...

machines, but I was soon promoted to a supervisory position. After years of hard work and effort, I became shift manager, and today I’m proud to say I’m in charge of the weaving department.
My days are all about planning and organising activities, such as, for example, deciding who should work on a particular phase of the production. I have to pay attention to the amount of material required to complete the orders, and ensure that product quality and production efficiency are maintained. What I like best about my job is the variety: every season brings new types of socks and stockings, new designs and new materials. It’s very dynamic, very stimulating.
I’m proud to be part of this company, and I’m happy to work with my team to improve production. What’s more, the possibility to travel allows me to visit the company’s other factories and share my experience with my colleagues.

Nikolina

My name is Nikolina, and I was born near Čakovec, where I still live. In my free time, I enjoy cycling, walking in the country and playing with my children.
After working as a technician in a microbiology laboratory, I realised I wasn’t satisfied with my choice, and that it offered me nothing in terms of job security. A couple of people...

I knew were already working in Tubla, and all of their experiences were positive, so I decided to apply.
I started working in Tubla in 2007, in the weaving department. Over the years, I gained a variety of experience, working in the garment development and preparation department and in quality control. I’ve recently been promoted to production coordinator, and since I’ve just obtained this position, I’m keen to learn as much as possible so I can carry out my tasks successfully.
When I started working in Tubla, the items were produced in only a small selection of colours; today, when you walk into the production department, it’s all very colourful, with different designs and patterns featured on our models. I like to think this makes our customers happy, especially our younger customers.
I’m very proud to be part of this big family. The fact the brand is so well-known worldwide is an incentive to do our best every day to meet the needs of our consumers. When I tell people I work for this company, I always like to see their reaction, because it’s clear how well known and popular it is. I also appreciate the fact that the waste materials, especially plastic, are returned to the suppliers so they can be used again, and that so much effort is made to limit the production of waste.
